Summit Reached

Watch this compelling and inspirational short film clip which follows a local team, including Dain Jensen of Kileys Karpets in St. Leonards, who successfully trekked to the summit of Kilimanjaro in October to raise money for Charity for Kids.
The Park Lane Group sponsored Dain and together with further sponsorship collected by the group, a sum of more than £20,000 has so far been raised. The money will go to Charity for Kids which helps sick and terminally ill children in the Hastings, Bexhill and Battle area by improving their current quality of life.
The group self-funded their trip to Africa to ensure that every penny and pound raised will go wholly to this local charity. The tough ascent took them through tropical rainforest, moorland, alpine desert before they finally reached the polar conditions of the summit at 5,895m above sea level.
Located in Northeastern Tanzania, Kilimanjaro, or ‘Uhuru’ as it is known locally, is the world’s largest freestanding mountain, the highest walkable mountain in the world, the highest mountain in Africa and it has the only snowfields in the equator.
