Our Giveaway Helps East Sussex Foster Care Association

The Park Lane Group Community Giveaway shared a £500 slice of its fund with the wonderful people at East Sussex Foster Care Association (ESFCA) this week.

The funding will go towards their Christmas party which is attended by around 200 children. According to Jane Hollobone who applied on behalf of ESFCA “The event gives children an important escape from the emotional stress associated with being away from their birth family at this time of year.”

This fantastic charity is run by foster carers and supports the local fostering community. There are approximately 600 children in care with East Sussex County Council at any one time with many in Hastings. A significant number have been physically, sexually or emotionally abused and many have suffered chronic neglect, witnessed domestic violence, alcohol and drug misuse.

ESFCA aims to show these vulnerable children that they can succeed and build brighter futures for themselves, by offering support, guidance, education, inspiration and positive experiences.
