New Homes: Latest Report Finds ‘Excellent’ Standards

The Park Lane Group is a long-standing member of the Considerate Constructors’ Scheme (CCS). As such, we strive to achieve the highest standard of ‘excellent’ in our site inspections and are delighted to have done so again in our January report on Wateringbury Way, a development of 51 homes in Eastbourne.

The CCS is an independent organisation which was devised in 1997 to drive improvement in the sector. It sets out five pillars which apply to all registered sites, regardless of size, value, and location. The pillars are Care About Appearance, Respect the Community, Protect the Environment, Care About Safety and Value Their Workforce.

Our latest site inspection report commented on the ‘excellent order throughout’ and that ‘the site is continuing to work to excellent standards overall as previously reported’.

We were also noted for our Community Impact Plan.

In recent months we have fundraised extensively for St. Wilfrid’s Hospice, provided financial and volunteer support to Absolute Angels and The Matthew 25 Mission among other charities, and helped with works around a local pond for example. Steve Foord, our Construction Director, has also visited three different schools to give talks, attend career open days, and assist in mock interviews to help school-leavers.

Our local focus extends to our workforce and suppliers too. We have always maintained a commitment to employing locally and working with local subcontractors and partners, and our report noted that we have worked with local agencies from the start to engage and train local labour to develop a trained workforce. Combined with our community work, it contributes to strengthening our local economy, which is good for everyone.

Wateringbury Way is scheduled for completion later this year, with all homes now sold. This flagship new development features 51 2- & 3-bedroom homes which are set beyond a smart entrance with a feature pond and landscaped grounds. The homes are ideally located in Eastbourne, close to several schools, shops, the town centre and seafront.
