Giveaway Fund Sorts Vital New Flooring
Eastbourne resident Nikki Box and her son Jayden, who has cerebral palsy, have received life-changing help from The Park Lane Group and our Community Giveaway initiative.
Through the fund, we have supplied and fitted new flooring throughout the first floor of Nikki’s home.
Jayden, who is aged 13, relies upon a wheelchair. But despite the installation of a lift to enable him to get upstairs, it was still very difficult for Nikki to move the wheelchair owing to the carpeted flooring.
According to Nikki “The new hard flooring is literally life-changing. Not only can we now move Jayden around much more easily, it has also been important from a hygiene perspective. Coming into the house from outside was a real issue because the wheels of his wheelchair just transferred dirt onto the carpet. It was impossible to keep clean whereas I can completely clean the new flooring.
“I heard of The Park Lane Group’s Community Give Away and decided to just try my luck and apply for some funding. But they’ve really gone the extra mile and sorted the fitting of it too. I’m just so grateful as is Jayden.”
