Team: PLG Appoints Two New Company Directors
The Park Lane Group are delighted to announce the appointment of two new Directors within our close-knit team. Gavin Gregory, former Commercial Manager has been promoted to Commercial Director and Steve Foord, former Contracts Manager has been promoted to Construction Director. Both Gavin and Steve have been long standing and key members within the PLG team and are thrilled to have accepted these roles.
Within an extremely thriving and fast-paced environment, both Steve and Gavin are excited to bring fresh new ideas and perspectives to their respective roles, working together to expand and grow our prosperous construction department and the development process as a whole.
Gavin as Commercial Director will take more of a strategic role within the overall running of the development side of the business, working closely with our Planning & Development Consultant, Laurence Hulkes to take on more responsibilities prior to the development stages of our new homes. Gavin has been an integral part of the team during his time at the company, beginning his PLG career as a Senior Surveyor. Having spent over 20 years in the industry, working predominantly on commercial, retail and education projects in London and the Southeast for several key companies, Gavin has gained a wealth of experience and has played a key role in the management and delivery of our developments over the last 4 years.
Gavin comments, “I joined The Park Lane Group in 2014 as a Senior Surveyor before soon being appointment the position of Commercial Manager, which I have remained until this exciting new opportunity. I am a big believer that a strong team ethos and collaborative team environment is essential to the management and delivery of each new build development, and I am pleased to say that I have found this at The Park Lane Group.
Steve will be taking a more full-on role on the Construction side of the business, managing all aspects of the build process. During his time at The Park Lane Group, Steve has been a crucial member within the construction team, working his way up through the company, challenging himself to finish developments in record time – something he and his team now need to keep up with!
Coming from a very diverse background within the building industry, Steve has gained a wealth of experience, working within a range of different sectors. He began his career as a Carpenter, before recognising his passion for managing the build of new homes from start to finish. This is when Steve decided to pursue his dream and become a Site Manager working for several well-known establishments, before settling his roots at The Park Lane Group in 2016.
Throwing himself straight into the job, Steve immediately began by managing the Rossetti Gardens development in St. Leonards, which was a beautifully designed scheme of 35 houses. Steve liked this development so much that he bought one for himself and his family to move into – that show’s his true confidence in PLG homes!
Working his way up through the company, Steve described his PLG experience as “A very exciting and diverse experience, having been involved in the successful completion of over 170 houses across 8 individual developments across Kent and Sussex. Now I am ready to begin my next chapter and help progress the company forward even further.”
Not only are The Park Lane Group pleased to be appointing these new positions, but the company also continues to spend heavily on training and support for our staff to enhance their skillsets and grow within the company. With this in mind, we are thrilled to share the news that both of our Site Managers, Craig Peters and Josh Kent received their graduate level qualifications in Construction Management. Also, our Financial Account, Ben Hosseingholizadeh has just finished his final accountancy exam and is now a fully qualified ACCA accountant.
As we continue to grow and progress the company, we are now looking to expand our team, particularly within the construction department by offering young adults who may be interested in construction or the industry itself, an opportunity to gain experience in a thriving and diverse company. We will be offering apprenticeships, work experiences and full-time positions in addition to offering support and training to the agency staff that we currently work with throughout our developments.
