Robsack School Visit

Ivor Goodsite and some of our team joined the morning’s assembly at Robsack Wood Primary Academy today to talk to the children about housebuilding.

Ivor is an industry mascot and part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme which The Park Lane Group also belongs to. He travels the country to help educate young people about construction and communicate important site safety messages.

We talked about our new development called Rossetti Gardens, just off Mayfield Lane in St. Leonards which is close to the school, and about how a construction project gets started, how wildlife and trees must be protected and what happens before any plant and machines are brought in. We explained how construction sites are kept safe, with examples of site safety signage and protective equipment, and the sort of checks managers carry out on-site every day. Ivor joined in by showing the children images of the different types of machinery that can be found on a typical site.

The Park Lane Group Colouring Competition

We also launched a colouring competition for the children in reception. Four entries will be chosen by the Park Lane Group and the children invited to visit Rossetti Gardens. It will be a great opportunity to see the site and wear the protective clothing we talked about today. Our forklift driver Gareth will be hard at work, moving bricks and blocks on to a scaffold, so there will be chance to see some of our machinery in action too.

And we will be adding the winners’ artwork to our site entrance placing it on display for everyone to see. Good luck children – we look forward to seeing your pictures!
