Rachel & Women V Cancer Ride the Night
With generous sponsorship from The Park Lane Group to spur her on, Rachel Riley successfully completed the ‘Women V Cancer Ride the Night’ charity bike ride on May 26th. Together with her fellow cyclists they raised over £2600 for a variety of women’s cancers.
The event started at 9.30pm but a big storm made for a long night and the team didn’t reach the finish until 5.45am the following morning.
The cyclists – all women only – followed a circular 100km route through London, finishing at Windsor Great Park and taking in some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks, including Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace.
According to Rachel, “I’m a keen cyclist and do at least two challenges every year. I was inspired to do this race as my sister and a number of friends have had breast cancer.”
This year alone, Rachel is also taking part in the Davina McCall ride in June and completing a tough 3-day ride with friends. But this is the kind of person that contemplates (and completes) a ride to Paris and home again.
Rachel would welcome further sponsorship. To find out more you can email Rachel here.
