Gail’s Aquathlon Training
Local mum and athlete Gail Wright is training hard to prepare for the 2019 Aquathlon World Championships next month.
Having sponsored Gail to help her in her bid to represent Team GB, it’s very exciting to follow her progress. She recently completed the Hastings Park Run with a personal best, finishing 1st in her age group and as the 4th female runner to come in. Overall, Gail secured 18th place from the 243 men and women who took part.
With her first aquathlon of the season coming up we wish her the best of luck.
In the meantime, she has shared an image of her new Team GB Tri-suit with us. This is now in production and will be ready for the Pontevedra ITU World Championships which take place in Spain this year.
Gail is a full-time teacher at St. Leonard’s Church of England Primary Academy School and a Hastings resident. Three years ago, her youngest son was diagnosed with LCH Cancer. Since then she has entered the London Marathon twice and qualified for this event. Her competition will comprise a 1000m swim and 3m run and will take place on May 2nd.
Through competing in the World Championships, Gail hopes to raise a significant amount for the local charities that helped her son whilst he had chemotheraphy. You can visit her Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/gailwright
