Funding for Aspiring Team GB Para Carriage Driver

Para Carriage Driver Joanne McNicol has received funding from The Park Lane Group Community Giveaway to support her training to hopefully secure a Team GB place at the World Championships in 2018.
Joanne lost both legs from below the knee in childhood but had a love of horses from an early age which led her to start riding with the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). She then discovered Para Carriage Driving and hasn’t looked back, winning the Open Carriage Driving Class at the RDA National Championships this summer.
With a tough schedule of training and GB squad qualifications to get through next, she has a lot of work ahead. But she is steadfast in her aims to represent Team GB at the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) Para-Driving World Championships which take place in The Netherlands from 28 August to 2 September 2018.
Joanne, who has family in Bexhill and now lives in St. Leonards, is pictured here receiving her cheque from Gavin Gregory of The Park Lane Group, and in action carriage-driving.
We wish her every success in her training and preparation.

We’re proud to be celebrating 30 years this year, having grown from a single property development in 1987 to become one of the largest independent housebuilders in the area. Managing everything from property sales to our rental and maintenance service makes us a little different, but we believe it is our commitment to remaining local and serving the communities in which we also live and work that really sets us apart.
