Community: A Christmas Lunch to Remember

The Park Lane Group’s Chief Executive, Russell Beswick continues to be a long-standing supporter of the Darvel Down community in Netherfield, where he grew up as a young lad.

We own and rent a number of properties in Darvel Down and continue to support the neighbourhood community in any way that we can. This includes providing land to the local school for woodland games and learning, children’s events, school events and much more.

In December we were delighted to fund a Christmas lunch for the seniors in the community, organised and ran by local resident, Marrissa. The residents enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings, including a scrumptious Christmas pudding or homemade trifle to end with.

Marissa is a keen supporter of the neighbourhood and wanted to give some of the residents a Christmas that they may not otherwise have, and make them feel like a community.

After lunch she also organised some great entertainment, including bingo, which we understand got rather competitive indeed!

We also assisted Marissa in funding a Christmas lunch for the children of the community, which included hosting 15 families, consisting of a total of 30 children. The children received a scrumptious lunch, before meeting Santa Claus himself who gave each of them a special present from the north pole!
