Charity: How a Little Horseracing Helped ManKind

Our recent Park Lane Group senior management team away day provided a helpful donation to ManKind, the Eastbourne support and listening group for men.

Group chief executive, Russell Beswick, organised a day at Lingfield Racecourse as a thank you for the team. To pay it forward, they decided to donate their winnings.

According to managing director, Sue McGreevy, “It’s great to support ManKind. Their presence locally is invaluable. As a business in the construction sector with a high number of male employees, subcontractors and partners, we really advocate the importance of getting help and taking care of your mental health just as you would your physical health. And what they offer as a free support group is really plugging a gap.”

Since its inception in 2020, ManKind has grown. It now holds a free support group every Wednesday evening in Eastbourne and every Thursday in Heathfield. Their ‘Cold Club’ takes place on the first Sunday of the month with a bracing sea swim and breakfast barbeque with the Pevensey Plungers. They also work in collaboration with the Old Bank Wellbeing Trust who provide counselling and psychotherapy.
